The European authorities launch an international network of tax crime fighters.

The Dutch Ministry of Finance today announced that the French and Dutch authorities initiated an international network in order to fight international tax fraud. The announcement provides also information on the results in the Netherlands of the fight against VAT carrousel fraud. The Dutch government in 2009 assessed 28 million euro and issued penalties up to 4 million euro to fraudulent companies. Ministry of Finanance allows companies to choose for quarterly returns in 2011.

 

The Dutch Ministry of Finance today announced that their temporary (crisis) measure, allowing companies to file quarterly VAT returns in stead of monthly returns, is continued for another year until the end of 2011. Read more on the site of the Ministry of Finance (in Dutch).

Dutch Tax Authorities announce maintenance and renewal website EU refunds.


Today the Dutch Tax Authorities announced they will take serious steps in the coming days to maintain and replace the portal and website used by Dutch entrepreneurs and intermediaries for VAT refund claims abroad.

The announcement is probably the result of many complaints in recent weeks by users.

The announcement was done by email.

ALLVAT received today the following email in Dutch:

In short you cannot acces the website / portal on May 26 in the afternoon nor May 31 in the morning.
